Silice Viticulture
Founded in 2013 by brothers Carlos and Juan Rodríguez, natives of the Ribeira Sacra wine region in Galicia, Spain, and Galician-Swiss DJ-turned-winemaker Fredi Torres. The two brothers and their old friend use the project to preserve historic vineyards and express the unique landscape of the Riberia Sacra through wine. Silice works with 8 hectares of organically farmed vineyards planted primarily on granite, producing small-to-tiny-production wines that are racy, fresh, and elegant with razor-sharp detail. They prioritize the expression of individual parcels and zones, capturing the vibrant fruit character of the region and often blending the Menica Riberia Sacra is famous for with other varieties that have long also called the area home. Choosing the perfect moment of harvest, fermenting multiple red and white varieties together, with strategic use of stems, cold macerations, and gentle extraction guarantee exciting snapshots of place and vintage every year.
Distributed via Craft Cellars, Craft Collective’s wine division, offering a carefully curated selection of wine from small, artisan producers worldwide, with a focus on quality, passion, and unique, distinctive wines.
