Two Shepherds
Located in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma, Two Shepherds completed their 16th vintage in 2025, now making 3500 cases a year. (a reduction from 5000 case peak.)
Partners William and team craft natural wines, from unusual and rare varieties, organically farmed, from leased vineyard row contracts across the North Coast, many of which are 45-100+ years old. They also organically and regeneratively grow Grenache Gris and Grenache Noir on their small farm, alongside their 3 adorable mini donkeys and 5 goats, and two Kune Kune pigs, aka the lawnmowers.
Wines are made in their own facility, virtually all from unusual varietals, like Picpoul, Trousseau Gris, Vermentino, Pinot Meunier, Cinsault and many more. Long nicknamed “the insane master of small lots” William guides ~15-20 unique wines a year ranging from 25-400 case lots.
All are vinified with native yeast, small bin fermentations, exclusively neutral oak, and a small amount of SO2. Their light-handed approach, and reputation for unflawed wines, has been heralded by the press, with articles in the NY Times, Wall St Journal, Washington Post, SF Chronicle, and more. Their line of canned sparkling, eco friendly wines has been lauded as a game changer in canned wines.
With European backgrounds, we are inspired to craft classic wines, that also happen to be natural. These are not mutually exclusive as we have proved for over a decade, making wines that are clear, age-worthy and clean. Experience and dedication to quality matter!
